So, first little thing before I start my challenges in attempt to extinguish this terrible writer’s block. It’s terrible >.> I don’t even know how I wrote this. But I did. So, I hope you enjoy.

They were starting to notice, and you didn’t know what to do. After joining the Survey Corps you had began to change from the talkative, bombastic girl who wanted to help everyone to the reserved girl who blushed and looked at edge most of the day. The others had worried for you, fearing only the worst that might have happened to you. Had you been attacked? Had you been threatened? Did you get into trouble? The thoughts were going through their heads whenever they saw you pass by, hands stuffed into pristine white pant pockets, your (color) eyes towards the dirt crunching under your feet.
It wasn’t until one day during training that their suspicions changed directions. You had been fighting Jean in hand-to-hand when he grabbed your wrist, twisting it as he spun a 180 and dived for a leg with his free hand, effectively lying you face-first into a cloud of dust and hardened soil. You coughed out the heavy sentiment from your lungs, raising yourself up onto your hands and knees. A shadow covered your face, causing you to look up, meeting the apologetic smile of Jean, his calloused hand extended towards you. You reached up to take it, and the collar of your olive green shirt had moved just enough to reveal a mark on the junction on the side of your neck and your shoulder.
“What’s that?” Jean asked with wide eyes as he quickly pulled you up to your feet, grabbing onto your collar with a rough hand. You yelped quietly as he yanked the clothing to the side to reveal not one, but two marks, both very close to one another. Blood rushed to your cheeks as you shrugged him away roughly, pulling yourself away from him as you attempted to cover the spots with your now-stretched shirt.
“It’s nothing, don’t worry about it,” you assured him as you started to walk away, cheeks burning like fire, stomping away towards your quarters. You had to get away before you attracted too much attention.
“_____, were those bite marks?”
Everyone stopped what they were doing to look over to the two of you, even Annie. You could feel the eyes burning into your back, causing your blush to worsen; you could already feel your head getting light as a feather.
“_____?” Armin’s voice rang out, followed by gentle footsteps in the soil. You stiffened as he appeared in your vision, worry in his eyes. They had all been so worried about your change in behavior, and now they might have an explanation. Armin wasn’t going to let this opportunity slip from his fingers. “C-Can I see?”
You shook your head wordlessly, causing his eyes to widen slightly. The blue orbs then shifted to your right ever so slightly, and that was all the warning you had before arms wrapped around your body tightly, holding you against a solid chest. A hand then tore your wrist from the cloth to reveal the two sets of marks.
“Come on, _____. We’re just worried,” Jean’s voice whispered in your ear, causing you to shudder involuntarily. You continued to shake your head, eyes dashing back and forth as the others began to close in on you to inspect.
“NO! I-I mean, they’re just scabs. You know, when your neck itches, so you scratch it? I-I just scratched it too hard,” you tried to reason with them, trying to get away from the dirty blonde holding you. Everyone was taken back at your sudden outburst.
“_____, if you don’t calm down, we’ll make calm down,” Jean warned you, holding you tighter as Armin pulled the cloth back to expose the marks for everyone’s eyes. They soaked the sight in like a sponge, then the questions began.
“Who did this?”
“Was it against your will?”
“Whoever did this, I swear I’ll kick their-”
“Is that the only mark?”
“Maybe someone is using her!”
”What have we here?”
Your eyes widened at the sight of none other than Levi, causing you to shrink back in fear; he looked like he was about to shit enough bricks to build a whole other wall.
“Kirschstein, (Last name), Arlet. My office. Now.”
It was dead silent, you were sure the others could hear the blood beating against your eardrums. How long had you three been sitting before his pointed gaze. Ten minutes? Twenty? Levi’s intense gaze was becoming extremely unnerving, and you were so tempted to tell him everything. Everything. You opened your mouth to spill the beans, to let them know the terrible secret you were keeping.
“I’m sorry, sir. I was sparring with _____ when I accidentally scraped her neck with my nails. I didn’t realize I had done in until I looked closer,” Jean flatly lied to the stoic man as he glared heatedly. Jean’s face was devoid of any emotion, but the sweat beading on his face and neck was telling another tale.
“Y-yeah, then I heard Jean say something and went to see what was wrong. Everyone m-must have heard and did the same,” Armin chimed in, his body shaking like a leaf. You looked at him and felt guilty for putting him in this position. At least they had come up with a believable excuse.
“Hm. You expect me to believe that?” Levi’s voice growled impatiently. “Boys, I want you to return to your work. You’ll be in charge of cleaning the dining hall for the next two weeks. I want to be able to eat my food off the floor, even though I would never do such a thing. Just make sure it’s clean. Dismissed.” With that, the two stood, saluted, and left as quickly as they could. Armin sent you a concerned look before the door was shut behind him. Afterall, you were now at the mercy of Levi.
“I heard Kirschstein say something about bite marks. Is that true?” You were about to reply when he butted in. “And don’t lie to me. Just tell the truth, or I’ll do everything in my power to make sure you’ll regret ever joining this Survey Corps. Understood?”
Your stomach suddenly turned into a ball of ice, your palms perspiring heavily. “Understood, s-sir. And yes…sir.”
“So, who gave you those marks?”
You couldn’t answer, your mouth grew stiff as if you couldn’t move it. You couldn’t tell him who it was, otherwise it would be the end for the both of you. “I-I...can’t say, sir.”
“Oh, you’re not going to talk? Must be a pretty terrible scandal. Do I need to torture you to get the information out of you? I’d be more than willing.”
“Then just tell me the name. If you don’t then you can say ‘Adios’ to your ranking as a soldier of the Survey Corps. I just want a name, _____.”
You paused, mulling over the information. If you told him the name, then both of you would be out of the military, or put through a punishment you’d regret. If you didn’t tell him, then you would be kicked out. Could he even do that?
“Well? Are you going to talk or am I going to have to-”
Suddenly, the door was opened quietly, causing Levi to halt in his words. The door was directly behind you, so you couldn’t see who it was; however, you had a pretty good idea of who would be barging into Levi’s office without knocking.
“Levi, you are dismissed to monitor Eren while he is with Hanji. I can take it from here.”
Commander Erwin Smith.
Levi gave a ‘tsk’ before he stood, standing short against the large desk, and walked around the room to the door. You could hear the pause of footsteps before they resumed, accompanied with the door slamming shut. You sat in silence, wondering if Erwin was still in the room or not. Your answer was given when footsteps slowly strolled towards the front of the room, much heavier than Levi’s. Your eyes lifted to look into Erwin’s icy blue orbs as they locked onto your own. You shivered as he folded his thick arms behind his back.
He then began to slowly walk closer to you, each step sounding clearly in the silence. Your heart began to race much faster than before when you put before Levi; however, it wasn’t beating out of fear, but anticipation. What would he do? What would he say?
His steps stopped within arm’s reach directly in front of you, icy cerulean eyes burrowing into your (color) orbs. Carefully, he unfolded a single arm and brought it in front of him, his large hand reaching forwards you. You visibly stiffened as his fingers brushed across your neck, causing butterflies to explode in your stomach. You could feel the hair on the back of your neck stand at attention from the gentle touch. He saw your reaction to his touch, and gently moved the stretched clothing of your collar to the side to reveal the two strawberry pink marks. His fingers then moved to your chin and moved it upwards, and tilted his head lightly to inspect the marks in better light. He then hummed as his thumb moved to brush over the marks slowly, feeling the rough texture under his pad. His eyes softened as a gentle smile played on his lips.
“Did they ask?”
“Yeah, but I didn’t tell them who did it.”
“Good. We just need to hide our secret until you can become an officer of some sort, when we can be accepted.”
“How long will it take?”
He withdrew his hand from the marks, his hand lingering in the air for only a moment before he placed it on the side of your face, opposite the marks. Your eyes looked up into his, admiring his ability to stay collected, his gentle touch, his beauty, everything. He was such an inspirational man, one that you found perfect in your eyes. Hence the reason you fell in love with him.
“I’ve no idea, but I’m willing to wait as long as it takes. For you.”
You both knew that scandals such as this were looked down upon, shunned, and detested; but that fact couldn’t break apart the bond between you. It was inseparable. It was wrong, but it was thrilling, and you couldn’t get enough of it.
